Two sisters drown in Rangpur
RANGPUR, May 30, 2018 (BSS) – Two sisters drowned in the water of a ditch
in Dalal Hatkhola Noyatari village under Kawnia upazila of the district
today, police said.
The victims were identified as Jasmine, 10, and Sumaiya, 7, daughters of
farmer Idris Ali of the same village.
Quoting family sources, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kawnia Thana Mamunur
Rashid told BSS that Jasmine and Sumaiya were playing by the side of the
ditch this morning in absence of their parents and neighbours.
“At one stage, both of the girls drowned in the ditch water, local
villagers rescued and took them to Kawnia Upazila Health Complex where the
attending physician declared them dead,” the OC added.
