WHITE STICKS-DISTRIBUTION-HABIGANJ
White sticks distributed among blind men in Habiganj
HABIGANJ, Oct 15, 2019 (BSS) – A total of 50 white sticks were distributed
among 50 blind men of the town this morning on the occasion of ‘International
White Cane Day’.
District Administration and the Department of District Social Services
Office distributed the white sticks at a function organised at the conference
room of the Deputy Commissioner.
District Administration brought out a rally followed by a discussion
meeting to mark the day which paraded the main roads of the town.
Deputy Director of District Social Services Office Habibur Rahman chaired
the discussion held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Tareq Mohammod Jakaria addressed the
discussion as the chief guest while Social Service Officer Jalal Uddin,
journalist Shah Fokruzzaman, Doctor Ruhul Amin, Ajabot Ullah and Ismael
Hossain from Protibandhi Unnayan Sangstha spoke, among others.
