World Standards Day Observed in Khulna

KHULNA, Oct 14, 2019 (BSS) – The 50th ‘World Standards Day’-2019 observed
here as elsewhere 165 countries in the world with the motto “Video standards
create a global stage”.

Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) of Khulna organised a
meeting marking the 50th ‘World Standards Day’ at BSTI Regional office in
Khalishpur here today.

Additional Divisional Commissioner Nishchinto Kumar Poddar attended the
meeting as the chief guest with Director of BSTI Khulna Region Md. Abdul
Mannan in the chair.

The chief guest said, BSTI is playing important role in providing the
desired services to the people through formulation and development the
standard of products and services.

He also said that producing goods ensuring international quality is a must
to implement the Vision-2021 and Vision-2041.

“It is essential to follow the international standards in all fields,
including production, marketing and service delivery,” Nishchinto added.

Director of BSTI Md. Abdul Mannan said, “BSTI is playing efficient,
accountable and responsible role in fulfilling the confidence of the people.

President of Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB) in Khulna Adv. Md.
Enayet Ali, Professor of KUET Dr. Mohiuddin Ahamed, Deputy Director
(Chemistry) of BSTI Md. Saudagor Shamim Faruk, officials and representatives
of local government bodies, among others, addressed it.

Earlier, BSTI authority brought out a colourful rally led by Abdul Mannan
from BSTI office to Mongla Customs House at Khalishpur area in the city.
