Journalist Dil Monowara Monu dies
DHAKA, Oct 14, 2019 (BSS)- Dil Monowara Monu, a senior journalist and
former executive editor of fortnightly ‘Ananya’, died at BIRDEM Hospital here
in the early hours of today.
She was 68.
Monu’s colleague Parveen Sultana Jhuma said the body will be taken to the
National Press Club for a Namaz-e-Janaza at 3pm after her first Namaz-e-
Janaza at Bibi mosque in the city’s Lalmatia area.
Dil Monowara Monu, also vice-president of Bangladesh Nari Sangbadik Kendra
(BNSK), will be buried at Jurain family graveyard after the namaz-e-janazas,
she added.
In 1974, she started her career in journalism as a sub-editor with ‘Begum’
magazine edited by Begum Sufia Kamal and Nurjahan Begum. Later, she joined
fortnightly ‘Anayna’ and was with the magazine for 25 years.
Her relatives and colleagues sought prayers for her departed soul.
