2 Neo-JMB men arrested over attacks on police in city
DHAKA, Oct 14, 2019 (BSS) – Counter Terrorism and Transitional Crime Unit
(CTTC) personnel have arrested two active members of banned militant outfit
Neo-JMB in connection with bomb attacks on police in city’s Gulistan and
Science Laboratory.
Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) of DMP Md Masudur Rahman
said the two Neo-JMB militants’ were arrested from Mohammadpur area in the
city last night.
The arrestees were allegedly involved in attacking police with Improvised
Explosive Device (IED) in city’s Gulistan and Science Laboratory area, he
told journalists.
On April 29, a bomb attack was carried out on duty police members at
Gulistan in city, leaving three persons injured.
Apart from this, on August 31, another crud bomb was blasted in city’s
Science Laboratory area at night, while LGRD Minister Tazul Islam and his
escorting motor vehicles were crossing the area.
Two police personnel were wounded in that incident.
