Farhad for efficient civil servants to eliminate poverty

DHAKA, Oct 13, 2019 (BSS)– AS the civil administration is the lifeline for ensuring good governance, the entry level civil servants should be adept at acquiring enough skill and proficiency to help implement the government’s targets for people’s welfare.

Expressing such a view at a training programme for the young BCS cadre officials, State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain today pleaded for making the entry level civil servants tuned with delivering their optimum services to eliminate poverty and ensure good governance.

The state minister was addressing the closing and certificate distribution ceremony of the 69th Foundation Training Course for the newly appointed Bangladesh Civil Servant (BCS) cadre officials as the chief guest at the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Center (BPATC) in Savar, said a press release here.

Farhad said “The present government has taken a comprehensive plan for the country’s development and welfare of the people. The civil servants should be built as skilled officials to implement the government’s plans successfully”.

He said BCS cadre officials bear a great responsibility to implement the government’s policies and plans.

So, they should acquire excellence in their professional knowledge, skill and mentality to materialize the government’s target, he said, adding that there is no alternative to impart quality training to increase their efficiency.

Farhad urged the young officials to work sincerely for the welfare of the country and its people.

Chaired by BPATC Rector Md Rakib Hossain, the function was addressed by Public Administration Secretary Faiz Ahmed as the special guest.

The state minister distributed certificates among 395 BCS cadre officials for successfully completing the six-month long foundation training course.

A member of the foreign cadre service Arifa Afrin got the Rector Medal for her outstanding performance during the training programme.
