PADMA-BRIDGE-COMPENSATION
3,041 affected people get compensation
DHAKA, Oct 13, 2019 (BSS) – A total of 3,041 people out of 7,700 from six
upazilas, who have been affected due to the construction work of Padma Bridge
Rail link Project (PBRLP), got financial assistance of Taka 77.69 crore.
A total of 3,041 people have already been given Tk 77.69 crore while the
process of providing compensation to the remaining affected people is
underway, a press release said here today.
In association with the Bangladesh Railway and the Construction
Supervision Consultant (CSC) of Bangladesh Army, Development Organisation of
the Rural Poor (DORP) organised the cheuqe distribution ceremony at Shyampur
Agricultural Extension Department, Narayanganj.
Project Director and Additional Secretary Engineer Golam Fakhruddin Ahmed
Chowdhury attended the event as the chief guest.
About 358.41 hectares of land was acquired for the construction work of the
82-kilometre railway from Dhaka to Bhanga upazila, Faridpur district.
The project is expected to be completed by 2021.
