Tk 4.63 lakh realised from 93 business entities
DHAKA, Oct 13, 2019 (BSS) – The mobile teams of the Directorate of National
Consumer Rights Protection have realised over Tk 4.63 lakh from 93 business
entities for violating the Consumers’ Right Protection Act, 2009.
A total of 36 mobile teams of the directorate under the Commerce Ministry
conducted market monitoring drives across the country on October 10, and
penalised and realised over Tk 4.63 lakh from 93 business entities for
violating the Consumers’ Right Protection Act, a press release said.
Local administrations, police, the Armed Police Battalion, civil surgeon
offices, the Department of Environment (DoE), sanitary inspectors, fisheries
officers, market monitoring officials and the Consumer Association of
Bangladesh (CAB) assisted the drives.
During the drives, the mobile teams distributed leaflets and pamphlets
aiming to create awareness among common people about the consumer rights.
