Branding of PM’s 10 initiatives stressed to accelerate uplift

RANGPUR, May 30, 2018 (BSS) – Government officials at a discussion here have stressed branding of the 10 special initiatives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina through proper implementation to accelerate uplift and attain the sustainable development goals (SDGs).

They expressed the view at the discussion organised by the district information office at Pirgachha Upazila Parisahd auditorium on Tuesday afternoon.

The event was arranged to inform the people about branding of the PM’s ten special development initiatives, successes achieved by the government during the past nine years and its future development plans.

Deputy Commissioner Enamul Habib attended the discussion as the chief guest with Pirgachha Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Fauzul Kabir in the chair.

Pirgachha Upazila Parishad Chairman Alhaj Afsar Ali, its vice-chairmen Shah Farhad Hossain Anu and Manjuri Begum, Upazila Agriculture Officer Shamimur Rahman and Upazila Social Service Officer Enamul Haque addressed as special guests.

Assistant District Information Officer Sabiha Akhter Lucky discussed the successes already achieved by the government in implementation of the Vision 2021, Charter of Changes and digitisation to accelerate pace of national development.

She narrated progress of implementation and huge positive impacts of the PM’s ten special initiatives of ‘Ektee Bari, Ektee Khamar’ project, Asrayan Prokalpo, digital Bangladesh, education assistance, women empowerment, electricity for all, social safety, community clinic and mental health, investment development and environment protection programmes.

Lucky Akhter discussed the successes achieved in the education, health, agriculture, social safety-net, poverty alleviation, power generation, road communication, women and children development, women empowerment and digitisation and ICT sectors.

She also mentioned successes like self-reliance in food, strengthening local government, self-employments, producing skilled human recourses, prevention of militancy, terrorism, drug abuse, dowry, child marriage and superstitions.

Later, heads of the upazila level different government offices discussed the successes achieved by their respective departments in implementing the PM’s ten special initiatives and other programmes to improve life standard of the common people in the upazila.

The chief guest called upon all concerned for proper implementation of the PM’s ten special initiatives and other programmes to build a middle income nation by 2021 and achieve the SDGs on way to build a developed country by 2041.
