Saif looking for consistency after successful SL tour

DHAKA, Oct 13, 2019 (BSS)- Saif Hasan, who is dubbed as the next big thing
of Bangladesh cricket, said he is not willing to lose his sleep, thinking a
place in the national team.

All that he wants at the moment is to compile runs as many as he can do.
The youngster was one of the shining spots of Bangladesh A during its tour in
Sri Lanka in which they won the three-match one-day series by 2-1 before
settling for draw in the two longer version matches.

Saif scored 154 runs in the three-match series and picked three wickets to
contribute in team’s victory.

His performance also drew the attention of the selectors and there is talk
hovering around of his inclusion in the national team.

“My selection depends on the selector. If I play well continuously than
certainly opportunity will come,” Saif said here on Sunday after arriving in
Dhaka from Sri Lanka.

“At the moment my only target is to score runs as many as I can do.”

“I played seriously in every match. When it clicks it seems good. I always
make my opportunity to count.”

“I was preparing for the national team long time back. I was trying to
improve my fitness… Trying to improve my batting and bowling too,” he said.

“I’m trying to improve minimizing my shortcomings and the more I develop
and prepare myself which will be better for me in the national team,” he
said.

He made some tweaks in his batting style which paid rich dividends.

“I was playing well from the premier League and I was trying to make some
changes in my batting from the premier league. I tried to follow a new
playing pattern and did well in Sri Lanka,” Saif informed.

“I played some good innings at India with changed style in batting,” he
said adding that now he is eying to do well in the National Cricket League
(NCL).

“I will try to make avail the opportunity that I get as I will be playing
the National Cricket League and I will try to score heavily there,” he said.
