Prize distribution of 2nd Div. chess league held
DHAKA, Oct 12, 2019 (BSS)- The prize distribution ceremony of the second
Division Chess League was held today (Saturday) at Bangladesh Chess
Federation hall room.
FM Iqbal Bin Anwar (Dawn), executive director and head of games and
Welfare of Walton group, distributed the prizes as the chief guest.
Syed Shhab Uddin Shamim, general secretary of Bangladesh Chess Federation
(BCF), presided over the prize distribution ceremony.
Masudur Rahman Mallick, joint secretary of BCF and secretary of chess
league committee, and chief arbiter of the event International Arbiter Haroon
Or Rashid were also present.
Champion Esoft Arena Chess Club (Junior) received Taka 25 thousand prize
money while runners-up Morning Glory Chess Club Kustia-A got Taka 15
thousand.
Besides, third place finishers Bangladesh Police Prime Chess received Taka
10 as cash award.
The event was held in 8 round Swiss-League system and a total of thirty
one teams took part in the league. Champion Esoft Arena Chess Club (Junior)
and runners up Morning Glory Chess Club Kustia-A will take part in the next
year’s first Division Chess League.
