One held with firearms, ammunition in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI, Oct 10, 2019 (BSS)- Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in
an anti-crime drive, arrested an alleged firearm-trader with two firearms and
some ammunition in the city here last night.
The arrested was identified as Muhammad Ali, 24, son of Mukul Ahmed of
Alinagar village under Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj district.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a drive at
Gourhanga crossing under Boalia Police Station in Rajshahi city around 9.30
pm and nabbed Muhammad Ali.
The team also recovered two foreign-made pistols, four magazines and 14
rounds of bullet from his possession.
The RAB team arrested Muhammad Ali for his alleged long-term involvement in
firearms trading and trafficking.
A case has been filed with Boalia Police Station in this connection and the
arrested person along with the seized firearms and ammunition were handed
over to police today, the RAB sources said.
