Mayor Atiqul off to Denmark
DHAKA, Oct 08, 2019 (BSS) – Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC)
Atiqul Islam left here for Denmark early today to attend the 2019 C40 World
Mayors Summit.
DNCC chief public relations officer ASM Mamun told BSS that Atiqul left
Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 2am.
The summit, which is considered as the most important event of the year on
tackling climate change, will be held on 9-12 October in Denmark’s capital
city Copenhagen, said the DNCC official.
Mayors, business leaders, volunteers, scientists and environment activists
from across the world will participate in the summit.
The participators will highlight the future plans and strategies taken to
deal with the effects of the climate changes.
C-40 is an organisation of 94 megacities which deals with tackling the
climate changes.
The DNCC Mayor is expected to fly home directly after finishing the
summit.
