DHAKA, Oct 7, 2019 (BSS) – State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russel to stand by ailing former national cricketer Mosharraf Hossain Rubel who has recently undergone surgery to his brain tumor.
The operation was successful but to recover from it fully, Mosharraf Rubel, the former left arm spinner of the national team still needs 6 circle of chemotherapy.
Some days ago, in a facebook status, the left arm spinner announced to sell his flat as he needs BDT 50 lakh for the chemotherapy.
He wrote: “It’s time to fight against chemotherapy. I have already spent Tk 1 crore for my treatment. It requires more Tk 50 lakh for rest 6 circle of chemotherapy. So I want to sell my flat (1540 square feet) urgently. If anyone wants to buy the flat, please contact with me in my inbox.”
Russel however handed over a cheque of BDT 2 lakh to him in the conference room of National Sports Council (NSC) on Sunday. NSC secretart Masud Karim was present during that time.
The state minister vowed to stand beside him and gave him word to inform his matter to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in a bid to get her co-operation.
Russel also urged the rich people of the society to come forward for the Rubel’s treatment.
