No compromise with convict: Khalid
DINAJPUR, Oct 5, 2019 (BSS) – State Minister for Shipping Ministry Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury today said the government would not compromise with a convict.
“Political propaganda is being spread across the country to press home for granting bail to Khaleda Zia but the government would not make any deal with a convict,” he said.
The state minister made the remark after inaugurating a newly-constructed four-storey building and laying the foundation stone of a three-storey building of Mohona Mangalpur High School at Biral Upazila under the district.
Khalid, also the Organising Secretary of Awami League, said, “The convict must have to undergo punishment, the government would not interfere in the matters of court.”
“Khaleda is behind the bar as she misappropriated orphans’ money. She is a former Prime Minister and it is a rare case in the world that a person holding such a position could do such detestable deed,” he added.
President of the school committee Abdul Hamid Shah presided over the programme while Biral upazila Chairman AKM Mostafizur Rahman Babu and Upazila executive officer ABM Rowshan Kabir, were present, among others.
Later, Khalid laid the foundation stone of Mangalpur senior Alim madrasa, followed by visit to a puja mandap in the area.
