Dhaka Tribune lifts Kool-BSJA Media Football trophy

DHAKA, Oct 5, 2019 (BSS) – Dhaka Tribune emerged as the champions of Kool-BSJA Media Football after beating Dainik Samakal by 5-4 goals in a tiebreaker at the artificial turf of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) on Saturday.

In the well contested final, no team could break the deadlock after which the tiebreaker determined the fate of the game.

The tournament was sponsored by the Square Toiletries and organized by the Bangladesh Sports Journalists Association (BSJA).

Dhaka Tribune captain Fazle Rabbi Moon got the Masud Ahmed Rumi award for being adjudged as the man of the tournament. He was also adjudged the man of the match.

Jagonews24.com’s Moniruzzaman Uzzal who scored highest seven goals got the award of highest scorer. Dipto TV got the Musabbir Al Saadi Pommel Fair Play Trophy.

Champions Dhaka Tribune were richer with cash BDT 30,000 award along with an attractive trophy while Samakal was awarded BDT 15,000 and a trophy for being runners-up.

Dhaka Tribune earlier beat Daily by solitary goal while Samakal edged Channel I past by 4-3 in tiebreaker to move into the final.

Bangladesh national football team coach Jamie Day distributed the prized amongst the winners.

Square Toiletries marketing manager Fazle Mowla Rony, BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Sohag, BSJA founding member Muhammad Kamruzzman, former BSJA president Manzurul Haque, incumbent BSJA president Motaher Hossain Masum, general secretary Raihan Al Mughni, Tournament committee convener Rakibul Hasan, member secretary Arafat Jubair and other BSJA members and the journalists from different media houses were present during the prize distribution ceremony.

A total of 24 leading media houses of the country took part in the tournament.
