North South, BRAC University in quarterfinals
DHAKA, Oct 5, 2019 (BSS) – North South University and BRAC University moved into the quarterfinal of the United Group Faraaz Inter-University Gold Cup Football beating their respective rivals in the pre quarterfinals held on Saturday at Birshreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city’s Kamalapur.
In the day’s first match, North South University, rode on Ibrahim Ahmed Mridul’s brilliant hat-trick to register an overwhelming 8-1 goal victory over State University.
Apart from Mridul’s hat-trick with three goals, Sadat scored a brace while Akib, Anik and Usman scored one goal each for the winning side.
Sobuj scored the consolation goal for the losers.
In the day’s second pre quarterfinal match, BRAC University defeated ULAB University BY 3-2 goals in a hard fought encounter.
Bakhtiar struck twice while Raihan added the other one goal for BRAC.
On the other hand, Rakib and Sayon netted one goal each for State University.
