Top criminal Zeesan arrested in Dubai

DHAKA, Oct 4, 2019 (BSS) – Top fugitive criminal Zeesan Ahmed, wanted by
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in murder and explosives cases, has been
arrested in Dubai of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Zeesan was apprehended by police in Dubai four days ago but his identity
was confirmed on Wednesday, Assistant Inspector General (national central
bureau) of the police headquarters Mohiul Islam confirmed, a DMP news portal
said.

The law-enforcement agency in Bangladesh is preparing the necessary
paperwork that will be sent to Dubai for his extradition, the notice added.

Zeesan is on the home ministry’s list of 23 top criminals published in
2009 along with a reward on his head.

He influenced for terrorist activities at Gulshan, Banani, Badda, Motijheel
and some other areas of the capital city. He manipulated tender bids and
extorted money from people and businessmen, the sources said.

Interpol, the transnational police organisation, also issued a red notice
against him at the request of Bangladeshi law-enforcement and its website
lists charges of murder and possession of explosives.

Besides, the NCBs of Bangladesh police and Interpol worked in
collaboration to capture Zeesan, the sources added.
