Double rail line over Bangabandhu Rail Bridge: Sujon
DHAKA, Oct 02, 2019 (BSS) – Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujon today said that the government has taken initiatives to build a double rail line over the Bangabandhu Rail Bridge from 2020.
“The construction work of the double rail line over the Bangabandhu Rail Bridge will start from January next year”, he said.
He made the remarks while visiting the east station of Bangabandhu Rail Bridge in Tangail, on his way to Jamalpur.
He also said, “Another double line will be constructed from Tangail’s east station to Joydebpur in Gazipur area. It will ease out the communication of the country’s northern part with Dhaka and will reduce the inversions in the train schedules”, said the minister.
While asked about the development in the railway sector, the minister told the journalists that the government is working for the betterment of the railway sector management system.
He said that modern technologies will be introduced in the railway sector soon in order to minimize difficulties, he said.
State Minister for Information Dr Murad Hasan, local Awami League leaders and senior officials of the railway were also present during the visit.
