Enhancing productivity stressed amid global challenges

RANGPUR, Oct 2, 2019 (BSS) – Enhancing productivity in all sectors has
become crucial to face global challenges as Bangladesh has emerged as a
country for role model for development.

Officials, industrialists and leaders of trade bodies made the observation
today at a post-rally discussion organised on the occasion of the National
Productivity Day- 2019.

The district administration and Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry
(RCCI) brought out the rally followed by exhibition of quality products at 25
stalls set up by local entrepreneurs. After the rally, a discussion was held
at RCCI auditorium in the city.

Deputy Commissioner Md. Asib Ahsan inaugurated an exhibition of locally
produced export quality goods, visited exhibited products at different stalls
and addressed the discussion as the chief guest.

Presided over by President of RCCI Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu,
officials, chamber leaders, industrialists, entrepreneurs, students,
teachers, civil society members, journalists and local elite attended the
programmes.

The chief guest said the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh
Hasina is committed to build a middle income Bangladesh by 2021.

“We must work sincerely in the industrial, service providing and other
sectors to enhance productivity and produce world standard quality goods to
increase export volume for earning foreign currency,” he added.

RCCI President Titu stressed the need for producing technologically
skilled human resources to enhance productivity in the industrial,
agriculture, service-providing and all other sectors to build a middle income
country by 2021 and developed country by 2041.
