DHAKA, Sept 30, 2019 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today placed Kalabagan Krira
Chakra Club President Shafiqul Alam Feroz on five-day fresh remand in a case
lodged over possessing illegal arms.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Atikul Islam passed the order as
investigation officer and sub-inspector Jasim Uddin of RAB-2 produced Feroz
before court and pleaded to place him on 15-day fresh remand in the case.

Earlier in the day, investigation officer (IO) of another narcotics case
lodged against him said the accused have given important information in the
five-day remand.

IO and sub-inspector Palash Hossain of detective branch of police filed
the report before Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate court as he produced the
accused before the court after end of his remand in the case.

“He has given much significant information, which are being scrutinized
for the sake of investigation, in the interrogation in remand. Further steps
will be taken in this regard after scrutinizing the information,” the IO said
in his report.

The IO also opposed Feroz’s bail plea, saying he could go into hiding in
that case.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Mahmuda Akter on September 21 placed
Feroz on total 10-day remand in two cases lodged over possessing illegal arms
and narcotics.

He was remanded five-day in arms case and five-day in narcotics case as
Dhanmandi police produced him before court and pleaded to put him on total
20-day remand in the two cases.

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) filed the two cases against Feroz on
September 21 with Dhanmandi Police Station.

The elite crime busting agency members seized new type of yaba tablets
from Feroz. The yellow color yaba has no particular smell, making it a
significant discovery for the agency.

A foreign made pistol was also recovered from the club along with three
bullets. Coins, scorecards, which are usually used in a casino, were also
recovered from club with 572 packets of playing cards.
