DHAKA, Sept 30, 2019 (BSS)- The Bangladesh U-18 football team returned home this afternoon from Nepal after participating in the SAFF U-18 Championship.

The team landed at Hazrat Shahajalal International Airport at around 2.30 pm.

Bangladesh’s hopes of clinching a maiden title of the SAFF U-18 Championship were dashed after they suffered a shocking 2-1 defeat to India in a nerve-wrecking final match held on Sunday at the APF Stadium in Kathmandu.

It was the second occasion the boys in red and green finished runners-up in the championship after losing to Nepal in the previous edition of 2017 final.

Earlier, on way to the final, Bangladesh drubbed Bhutan by 4-0 goals in the semifinal clash.
