Model mosque to be set up in each upazila: Munnujan
KHULNA, Sept 29, 2019 (BSS)- After increasing the facilities of the Imams and Muezzins, the government is going to set up one model mosque in each upazila across the country
This was stated by State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Munnujan Sufian at a discussion meeting as the chief guest held at the auditorium of the ‘Khulna Imam Training Academy’ to create mass awareness against terrorism, militancy and drugs today.
“The government has increased the facilities of the Imams and Muezzins of the country. For the welfare of the Imams, it has formed the Imam Welfare Trust. Besides, one model mosque is being built in each upazila throughout the country,” she said.
She said the present government has declared zero tolerance policy against terrorism, drugs, militancy and corruption.
The state minister urged all irrespective of their positions to strengthen the hands of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to build a ‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamt by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Later, she distributed certificates among the trained-Imams.
With Additional Deputy Commissioner Ziaur Rahman in the chair, the programme was addressed, among others, by Islamic Foundation Director (Khulna Division) Shaheen Bin Zaman, Awami League (AL) Unit President (Khalishpur) AKM Sanaullah Nannu, Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Panel Mayor Advocate Sufia Rahman Shunu and AL City Unit Organizing Secretary Md Ashraful Islam.
