Dr Razzaque for creating environment for young entrepreneurs

DHAKA, Sept 29, 2019 (BSS) – Agriculture Minister Dr M Abdur Razzaque
today urged all concerned to create suitable environment for young
entrepreneurs as small entrepreneurs are tremendously contributing to the
national economy.

“The small entrepreneurs are the backbone of the economy as they are
particularly contributing to the economy of the country,” he said this while
addressing the 14th city small entrepreneurs award distribution ceremony at a
city hotel.

The potential small entrepreneurs, sprawling in the remote areas across
the country are playing vital role in the mainstream of the economy, the
minister added.

Regarding the necessity of creating environment for the young
entrepreneurs, the minister said the investment will get higher if the new
entrepreneurs get opportunities in the country.

Stressing the need for curbing the micro credit interest rate, the
minister said “The Small and Medium Entrepreneurs (SME) are the tools of
achieving economic growth rate, minimizing income discrimination and poverty
alleviation.”

A total of nine persons and three organisations received the award in five
categories.

The best youth women entrepreneur in agriculture of the year got Taka 3.54
lakh while the best small entrepreneur got Taka 4.50 lakh.

Chaired by Chairperson of R Links Limited Rokeya Afzal Rahman, the meeting
was also attended, among others, by Managing Director of City Bangladesh Raj
Shekaran, founder of Shakti Foundation Dr Humayra Islam and CDF Executive
Director M Abdul Awal.
