31, including drug traders held in Dinajpur
DINAJPUR, May 29, 2018 (BSS)- Law enforcers, in special drives arrested 31
persons including 27 drug traders from different areas of the district in
last 12-hour ending at 8am this morning.
Law enforcers also seized 230 pieces of Pethidine injections, 104 bottles
of Phensidyl and 230 liters of locally-made liquor during the drives.
Police said they were picked up from different areas of the district on
different charges.
During the drives, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested eight persons including
five drug traders, Biral Thana police arrested three drug traders, Bochaganj
Thana police arrested three drug traders with 104 bottles of Phensidyl,
Kaharole Thana police arrested a drug trader, Chirirbandar Thana police
arrested four persons including three drug traders, Birganj Thana police
arrested three drug traders with 230 liters of locally-made liquor, Nawabganj
Thana police arrested two drug traders, Birampur Thana police arrested two
drug traders and Ghoraghat Thana police arrested two drug traders.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with
different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources added.
Meanwhile, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive detained
three drug traders with 230 pieces of Pethidine injections around 11pm from
Hili Railway Station in Hakimpur upazila of the district.
Later, the detained persons were handed over to the Hakimpur Thana police,
BGB said.
The arrested persons were sent to jail.
