Bangladesh storm into SAFF U-18 Championship final

DHAKA, Sept 27, 2019 (BSS)- It was an another impressive performance by
Bangladesh U-18 football team saw them to storm into the final of SAFF U-18
Championship crushing out to Bhutan by 4-0 goals in the first semifinal held
today (Friday) at APF Stadium in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Bangladesh will now lock horn against India in the final scheduled to be held on Sunday (Sept 29) at the same venue.

In the day’s match, mid fielder Tanbir Hossain opened an account for
Bangladesh in the early 16th minute while striker Faisal Ahmed doubled the
lead scoring the second goal for Bangladesh in the 27th minute.

Maraz Hossain further widened the team’s margin scoring the third goal for
Bangladesh in the 32nd minute while substitute medio Dipok Roy sealed the
victory scoring the fourth goal for the boys of red and green in the 90+2nd
minute of the match.

Bangladesh completely dominated the whole proceeding and notched their
deserving victory while Bhutan were totally off-colored on the day and failed
to create any real attempts.

Earlier, Bangladesh got off to an auspicious start beating Sri Lanka by 3-
0 drubbing in the group B opening match but shared point to India as they
played out to a goalless draw in their group second match.

On the other hand, group A champions Bhutan blanked Nepal by 3-0 goals in
heir group opening match but split point as they played to a goalless draw
with Maldives in their group phase engagements.
