Stay alert against evil forces amid ongoing anti-graft drive: Nasim

DHAKA, Sept 26, 2019 (BSS) – Awami League (AL) presidium member and central
14-party alliance spokesman Mohammed Nasim today urged all to stay alert so
that evil forces cannot hatch plots against the country capitalizing the
ongoing anti-graft drive.

He made the call while addressing a meeting of the 14-party alliance held
at AL Bangabandhu Avenue Central Office in the capital.

It will not be tolerated if wrongdoers destroy government’s all
achievements, Nasim said, adding the 14-party alliance extends its support to
the anti-graft drive launched by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

He said actions should be taken against all the people who were involved in
corruption or wrongdoings.

The 14-party alliance spokesman said: “We are happy seeing the drive
launched to stop corruption, crimes and casino operation. We have welcomed
it. Besides, we are saddened as some political leaders are involved in
corruption and wrongdoings.”

He said the 14-party alliance has taken a programmes on March 18 next year,
marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabadhu Sheikh Mujibur
Rahman and ‘Mujib Year’.

On the day, Nasim said, a candle-light procession will be brought out from
the city’s Manikmia Avenue at about 6 pm.

Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal president and former information minister Hasanul
Haq Inu, chairman of Workers Party of Bangladesh Rashed Khan Menon,
Bangladesher Samyabadi Dal general secretary Dilip Barua, former disaster
management and relief minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya and general
secretary of AL Dhaka South City unit Shahe Alam Murad, among others, spoke.
