Govt to set up godown in every district to preserve rawhide: Humayun

DHAKA, Sept 26, 2019 (BSS) – Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun today said the government will set up godown in every district of the country to preserve rawhide round the year, including the time of Eid-ul-Azha.

“We will set up godowns across the country for preserving rawhide to develop the country’s leather industry,” he said, speaking as the chief guest at a review meeting on the projects under the Annual Development Programme (ADP) at the Industries Ministry conference room in the city, said a press release.

State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Mojumder attended the meeting as the special guest while Industries Secretary Md Abdul Halim was in the chair.

Humayun asked the officials to prepare necessary projects in this regard as early as possible.

Kamal Mojumder instructed the authorities concerned to form a planning department, led by an additional secretary, in the Industries Ministry for accelerating the process of project implementation.

He said Bangladesh Industrial and Technical Assistance Center (BITAC) is playing a vital role to create skilled women by proving training.
