Bourses rebound in last day of week

DHAKA, Sept 26, 2019 (BSS) – Country’s both the bourses, Dhaka Stock
Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) bounced back and ended
today’s session in green inspired by the upsurge of large-cap shares.

At DSE, the index fluctuated throughout the trading sessions on Thursday,
the last working day in the week. It started with an upward movement and lost
momentum after first hour of trade.

Later, the index regained the upbeat pace and the broad index, DSEX closed
in green at 4968.47 points with a gain of 16.73 points or 0.33 percent from
the previous day.

In addition, the two selective indices, DSE30 increased marginally by 2.23
points while DSES increased slightly by 2.82 points to stand at 1768.94
points and 1148.52 points respectively.

On the DSE trading floor, a total number of 115,847 trades were executed
in today’s trading session with a trading volume of 118.48 million
securities.

Losers took a strong lead over the gainers as out of 354 issues traded, 152
securities gained price while 155 declined and 47 remained unchanged.

At DSE, most of the large cap sectors showed positive movement today except
textile.

The top ten gainers were Golden Harvest Agro, Monno Ceramic, Sonarbangla
Insurance, Bank Asia, Eastern cables, Eastern Insurance, Stylecraft, Monno
Stafflers, Eastern Lubricant, Silco Pharma.

The top ten losers were Fortune Shoes, Zeal Bangla, BIFC, United Air,
Vanguard AML Rupali Bank Balanced Fund, ICB AMCL Sonali Bank Limited 1St
Mutual Fund, Shyampur Sugar Mills, EBL NRB Mutual Fund, Matin Spinning Mills
and Alltex Industries.

National Tubes topped the turnover chart followed by GP, National Polymer,
Singer BD, Fortune Shoes, Sonarbangla Insurance, BSCCL, Monno Ceramic, Bank
Asia and VFS Thread.

Besides, the port city bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also
registered upsurge overcoming the downbeat of previous day. CSCX and CASPI
increased by 39.44 and 65.65 points to stand at 9161.83 points and 15083.86
points respectively.

At CSE, a total of 5,490,125 shares and mutual fund of 252 companies were
traded, of which 110 issues advanced while 104 declined and 38 issues
remained unchanged.
