ACC asks BRTA to send private car owners’ list urgently

DHAKA, Sept 25, 2019 (BSS) – The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has sent a letter to Bangladesh Road and Transport Authority (BRTA), seeking a list of the owners of private cars or jeeps of 2500 cc horsepower or above on urgent basis.

A letter signed by ACC director general (Special Investigation Unit) ANM Al Firoz was sent to the BRTA chairman, said a press release here today.

The ACC, country’s anti-graft watchdog, in its letter asked the BRTA authority to send the list of the owners of such private vehicles (cars and jeeps) registered with the BRTA in the last five years.

The anti-graft body sought details of the private vehicles, including the names and addresses of the owners, engine or chassis numbers, model, date of import, registration number and date, price, documents of the VAT and other taxes.

“The BRTA has been asked to submit all the above mentioned information to the ACC on an urgent basis,” the release added.
