Hong Kong stocks fall 1% on Trump impeachment move, trade fears
HONG KONG, Sept 25, 2019 (BSS/AFP) – Hong Kong shares fell nearly one
percent in the morning session Wednesday after US Democrats launched
impeachment proceedings against Donald Trump and hopes of a breakthrough in
trade talks receded following the president’s tough talk on China.
The Hang Seng Index was down 249.08 points, or 0.95 percent, at 26,031.92
by the break.
