Rani Hamid takes solo lead in Women’s Chess
DHAKA, Sept 24, 2019 (BSS)- Reining woman champion WIM Rani Hamid of
Bangladesh Ansar & VDP now took solo lead in the point table with 5.5 points
the sixth round games of the 39th National Women’s Chess Championship now
being held at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room.
Five players are sharing second position with five points. They are WIM
Sharmin Sultana Shirin of Janata Bank Officer Welfare Society, WFM Nazrana
Khan Eva of Manikganj, Afrin Jahan Munia of Barisal, Ahmed Walijah and Nusrat
Jahan Alo of Elegant International Chess Academy.
Kazi Zarin Tasnim placed at the third position with 4.5 points.
In the day’s sixth round games held on Tuesday, WIM Rani Hamid beat
Jannatul Ferdous, WIM Sharin split point with WFM Eva, Munia got walk-over
against WCM Sharmin Sultana Shirin, Walijah beat Afroza Hoque Chowdhury, Alo
beat Ummer Taslima Protiva Talukder, Zarin beat Nusrat Jahan Liza, WCM Noshin
Anjum beat Tanjila Tur Noor, Wadifa Ahmed beat Thakur Jania Haque, Israt
Janah Diba beat Kaumudi Nargis, Jannatul Ferdousi Israt Jahan Nishi, Warsia
Khusbu beat Shanjida Shakib and Tasnia Tarannum Orpa beat Nazmin Akter.
The seventh round matches will start tomorrow (Wednesday) at the same venue
at 3 pm.
