JS body for scrutinising Bangladesh Flag Vessel (Protection) Bill
DHAKA, Sept 23, 2019 (BSS) – The parliamentary standing committee on the Shipping Ministry today recommended bringing necessary amendments to the ‘The Bangladesh Flag Vessel (Protection) Bill, 2019’ after its proper scrutiny.
The parliamentary watchdog made the recommendation at its 9th meeting held at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with committee chairman Major (retd) Rafiqul Islam in the chair, a handout said.
The committee discussed the progress of different programmes taken by the ministry on the celebration of birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Committee members State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Ranjit Kumar Roy, Dr Shamil Uddin Ahmed Shimul, M Aslam Hossen Sawdagar and SM Shahjada, among others, took part at the meeting.
