DHAKA, Sept 23, 2019 (BSS)- Both the boys’ and girls’ sections semifinals of the Eight more matches of the Polar Ice Cream 26th School Handball tournament (boys’ and girls’) will be held tomorrow at Shaheed Captain M Monsur Ali Handball Stadium in the city.
In the boys’ section semifinals, Sunnydale will take on Saint Gregory in the first semifinals at 1 pm while Residential Model School and College meet Shaheed Police Smrity College in the second semis at 2 pm.
In the girls’ section semifinal, Sunnydale will play against Kadamtola Purbo Bashabo School and College in the first semifinal at 12 pm while Viqarunnisa Noon School and College take on Scholastica (Uttra) in the second semis at 3 pm.
Meanwhile, in the day’s girls’ section second round matches, Sunnydale beat Shaheed Police Smrity College by 24-3 goals after leading the first half by 24-03 goals.
Kadamtola Purbo Bashabo School and College drubbed Bangladesh International School and College by 8-0 goals after dominating the first half by 5-0 goals.
Sunnydale outclassed Scholastica (Uttara) by 15-03 goals after leading the first half by 9-1 goals and Viqarunnisa Noon School and College overpowered Bangladesh International School and College by 20-01 goals after leading the first half also by the same goals.
In the boys’ section second round matches, Residential Model School and College beat Kadamtola Purbo Bashabo School and College by 29-28 goals after trailing the first half by 12-15 goals.
Shaheed Police Smrity College defeated Scholastica (Uttara) by 24-18 goals after trailing the first half by 07-13 goals and Residential Model School and College overpowered Bangladesh International School and College by 27-17 goals after leading the first half by 16-04 goals.
A total of 37 metropolis school teams, 19 of boys and 18 of girls’ school teams, split into six groups in each section, are taking part in the meet, sponsored by Dhaka Ice Cream Industries Limited and organized by Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF).
