Quader inaugurates new road building

DHAKA, Sept 22, 2019 (BSS) – Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road
Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today inaugurated the newly
constructed road building at Cox’s Bazar, two district highways and a bridge.

The road building was constructed at a cost of Taka 4.79 crore, said a
press release here.

The 20.27 km long Kutubdia-Azam district highway was constructed at a cost
of Taka 28.89 crore, 7.70km long Pekua Bazar-Magnamaghat Highways at Tk 14.2
crore and the 36.60 meters long ‘Taitung Bridge’ of Anwara-Banskhali and
Chakria Highway at Taka 5.80 crore.

He also inaugurated five road construction projects under the Cox’s Bazar
Road Department.

The projects include the construction of the 80 km long Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf
National Highway, under the Asian Development Bank’s Emergency Assistance
Project of Taka 458.32 crore, said the release.

It also includes the development works of 18 km long ‘Khurskul-
Chowfoldondi-Eidgaon Highway’ worth Tk 37.95 crore, 24.23km long
‘Janatabazar- Gorakghata district highway’ worth Tk 58.4 crore, 19.5 km long
‘Yangcha-Manikpur-Shantibazar district highway’ worth Tk 57.58 crore and
9.64km long ‘Cox’s bazar link road-Laboni mor Sarak’ (N-110) worth Tk 228.69
crore.
