Puja Udjapan Parishad holds extended meeting

DHAKA, Sept 20, 2019 (BSS) – The Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad today held an extended meeting on the premises of Dhakeshwari National Temple ahead of Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the Bangalee Hindu community.

Members of national council, advisory council and representatives of district, city, upazila, thana and municipality level units of the Puja Udjapan Parishad attended the meeting.

The parishad seeks cooperation from all to celebrate the “Sharadiyo Durgotsav” with the same festivity the national festivals are adorned with.

Chaired by Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad President Milon Kanti Dutta, the meeting was addressed, among others, by journalist Swapan Kumar Saha, Puja Udjapan Parishad General Secretary Nirmal Kumar Chattarjee, Jayanta Sen Dipu, Additional Police Commissioner Krishnapada Roy, Mahanagar Sarbajanin Puja Committee President Shailendra Nath Majumder, Biresh Saha, JL Bhowmik, DN Chattarjee, Manindra Kumar Nath and Advocate Taposh Kumar Paul.

The meeting was informed that the Durga Puja will be arranged at more than 31,000 puja mandaps across the country.

Preparations of the Durga Puja across the country and different problems of grassroots levels were discussed at the meeting.

During the meeting, directives were given to all units to refrain from doing anything that could hurt religious sentiment of others.
