Shams-Ul-Huda clinches U-14 Academy Cup final title

DHAKA, Sept 20, 2019 (BSS)- Shams-Ul-Huda FA of Jashore clinched title of
the first Bashundhara Kings BFSF U-14 Academy Cup Football beating MK
Galaktiko of Sylhet by 7-6 goals in penalty shoot out in the keenly contested
final held on Friday at Paltan ground adjoining Bangabandhu National Stadium.

The final, which was pushed to day start by three hours due to heavy rain
in the capital, rolled into a tie breaker after the regulation time end in a
goalless draw.

General Secretary of Bashundhara Kings Minhajul Islam Minhaj was present
as the chief guest in the final and distributed the prizes.

Bangladesh Football Supporters Forum president Kazi Shahidul Alam presided
over the closing ceremony.

Bangladesh Football Federation executive member Fazlur Rahman Babul,
Roller Skating Federation general secretary Ahmed Asiful Hasan, tournament
committee’s chairman Sheikh Golam Akbor and BFSF general secretary Shahadat
Hossain Jubayer were also present in the closing ceremony.

Goalkeeper Swapna Sarder of Jashore was adjudged the best player of the
final while Hasan of Sylhet was named the best player of the tournament.

Besides, Kishorganj Bhuiyan FA got the fair play award.

Earlier, on way to the final on Thursday, MK Galaktiko of Sylhet beat FC
Khulna by 3-0 goals in the first semifinal while Shams-Ul-Huda FA edged past
Gendaria FA by a lone goal in the second semis.
