CHATTOGRAM, Sept 19, 2019 (BSS)-Despite a dream debut which saw him
claimed 2-18 in four overs in a measly bowling effort against Zimbabwe, leg-
spinner Aminul Islam Biplob is likely to miss the Bangladesh’s next match
against Afghanistan on Saturday at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in
Chattogram.

In the match against Zimbabwe, a shot of Hamilton Masakadza struck on
his left hand, leaving him injured. Later he needed three stitches on the
injured hand. “Masakadza played a straight drive and I went to save it but I
couldn’t. Later it hit my hand and there was no way to escape from it. Later
it needs three stitches,” Aminul said here on Thursday.

“But by the grace of Allah, it feels good now. The pain has subsided. I
don’t know whether I would play the next match. I will do what the physio
wants to me.”

Bangladesh team management however is yet to decide on whether Aminul
would play the next match against Afghanistan.

“Physio has been taking care of his injury. We didn’t get any update
yet. Once we get, we’ll let you know,” said chief selector Minhajul Abedin
Nannu.

At the insistence of new coach Russell Domingo, Aminul Islam Biplob made
the way into the national team and subsequently bowled well to give the
nations a hope to solve the leg-spinner crisis in the country.

Aminul however gave the credit to senior players like captain Shakib Al
Hasan, Mahmudullah Riyad and Mushfiqur Rahim to give him the confidence in
the field.

“Everyone inspired me to do well. When the senior players and captain
backed you, the confidence comes automatically,” Aminul, normally called as
Biplob by his teammates, said.
