Activities of P4D project continue in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Sept 18, 2019 (BSS) – The overall activities of Platforms for
Dialogue (P4D) project are going on at three unions of Sadar upazila in the
district since July last year.

The British Council is implementing the project funded by European Union
at Boali, Ramchandrapur and Kholahati union of the upazila under the guidance
of the Cabinet Division.

As part of P4Ds’s intervention, local civil society organizations and
representatives of local government are being trained and supported for
active engagements and dialogues on local policy issues.

Mass awareness campaign on National Integrity Strategy, the Right to
Information (RTI) Act-2009, Citizens’ Charters and the Grievance Redress
System is also being conducted under the project.

On Monday, a mass awareness campaign on Citizen’s Charters and the RTI Act-
2009 was held on the home yard of Mansur Ali at Analertari Munshipara under
Kholahati union of Sadar upazila here.

SAP leader-citizen’s charters Mahmudul Hasan Mondal, and district
facilitator of the project Mosarraf Hossain addressed the meeting as the
resource persons.

They elaborately discussed the importance of Citizen Charter and RTI Act-
2009 and called upon all to know it as a conscious citizen of the country.

The present government introduced the Citizen’s Charters to empower the
citizen in relation to public service delivery side by side with ensuring
accountability and transparency of the officials and the employees, they also
said.
