DMP files 6,601 cases over traffic rules violations
DHAKA, Sept 15, 2019 (BSS) – The traffic division of Dhaka Metropolitan
Police (DMP) filed a total of 6,601 cases for violating traffic rules in
Dhaka city.
Police yesterday fined Taka 27,63,000 for violating traffic rules and sent
32 vehicles to dumping ground. Apart from this, a total of 939 vehicles were
sent for wrecking.
A total of 148 vehicles were sued for using hydraulic horns, 13 vehicles
for using hooters and beacon light, 911 vehicles for moving into the wrong
way, two for using various sticker and 10 microbuses were booked for using
black glasses on windows, said a DMP press release.
Cases were also filed against 2,117 motorcycles for violating traffic
rules and 227 more were seized.
A total of 14 drivers were also booked for talking on mobile phones while
driving, added the DMP press release.
