Human chains for AL candidature in Rangpur-3 by-poll

RANGPUR, Sept 14, 2019 (BSS) – Many socio-cultural, professional and
political organisations today arranged dozens of human chains and rallies
demanding continuation of candidature of Awami League (AL)-nominated
candidate Advocate Rezaul Karim Razu for Rangpur-3 by-poll.

The events were arranged by over 30 organisations on the spreading news
that AL might withdraw its candidature supporting candidate of another party
to refrain from contesting the by-poll in Rangpur-3 parliamentary
constituency slated for October 5 next.

Thousands of common people, students of different educational institutions,
leaders, workers and activists of different political, socio-cultural and
professional organisations gathered on Press Club premises and other places
of the parliamentary constituency.

At the programmes on Press Club premises, President of Joy Bangla
Sangskritik Gosthi Tauhidur Rahman, General Secretary of Rangpur Lalon
Academy Shahidul Islam Hira, President of Uttaron Samajik-Sangskritik
Sangathan Ashfaq Chowdhury and General Secretary of Mouchak Paribar Rezaul
Karim Jiban addressed the event.

President of district Swechchasebak League Sirajul Islam Pramanik, Joint
General Secretaries of district AL Professor Mazed Ali Babul and Shahinur
Rahman Sohel, Vice-president of city AL Advocate Dilshad Mukul, General
Secretary of city Jubo League Murad Hossain, President of Rangpur Online
Activists Zinnat Hossain Lavlu, Bangabandhu Peshajibi Parisahd leader Mizanur
Rahman Tuhin, Sheikh Rasel Jatiya Shishu Kishore Parishad leader Saiful Islam
Sweet spoke on the occasion.

Later in the afternoon, Rangpur unit Chairman of Jatiya Mohila Sangstha and
Information and Publicity Secretary of district AL Rosy Rahman presided over
similar programmes held on the same venue in the city.

Organising Secretary of district AL Motahar Hossain Mandal Mowla, its
Office Secretary Tauhidur Rahman Tutul, District Jubo League leader
Kamruzzaman Shahin and hundreds of leaders and workers of different
organisations and ward committees of AL addressed the event.

Similar programmes were at Modern Mour and Domdoma in the city, Paglapeer
on the Rangpur-Dinajpur highway and many other places of Rangpur-3
parliamentary constituency.

The speakers expressed deep gratitude to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for
implementing massive developments in Rangpur and nominating General Secretary
of Rangpur district AL Advocate Rezaul Karim Razu as AL-candidate for by-poll
in Rangpur-3 seat.

Tauhidur Rahman Tutul said if candidature of AL-nominated candidate
Advocate Rezaul Karim Razu retains, he (Razu) would win the Rangpur-3 by-poll
by a huge margin of popular votes following massive developments of AL
government in Rangpur.

Motahar Hossain Mandal said it might a huge mistake to withdraw candidature
of AL-nominated candidate from the by-poll in Rangpur-3 seat when an unwanted
third candidate might be victorious instead of the ‘Mohajote candidate’.

Like others speakers, Shahidul Islam Hira, Professor Mazed Ali Babul,
Sirajul Islam Pramanik and Rezaul Karim Jiban called upon Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina not to withdraw AL-nominated candidature from Rangpur-3 by-
election.
