Women’s hockey team lose 6-0 to Uzbekistan

DHAKA, Sept. 14, 2019 (BSS)- The Bangladesh women’s hockey team suffered a
massive 6-0 goal defeat to strong Uzbekistan in their third match of Air Asia
Women’s Junior AHF Cup held today (Saturday) at Sengkang Hockey Stadium in
Singapore.

Uzbekistan women’s, who are physically and tactically a improved side
compared to Bangladesh, dominated from the beginning and had to wait a little
to take lead as they scored the first goal in the 2nd minute of the match.

The Uzbek women’s took 2-0 lead in the first quarter after scoring the
second goal in the 15th minute.

Uzbekistan added two more goals in the 17th and 30th minutes in the second
quarter and reached a 4-0 lead in the second quarter. Uzbekistan scored the
remaining two goals in the 45th and 54th minutes in the third and fourth
quarter respectively.

Bangladesh will play their last match against Chinese Taipei scheduled to
be held tomorrow (Sunday) at the same venue.

Earlier, Bangladesh had lost their first game on Monday by a 3-0 margin
against hosts Singapore but bounced back with a 2-0 triumph over Sri Lanka in
their second match.

The women’s in red and green lost their third match against Hong Kong by a
solitary goal.
