RANGPUR, Sept 14, 2019 (BSS) – Theatre personalities at a function have
stressed on involving children with nurturing cultural activities to build an
enlightened and peaceful society free from drug abuse, militancy, terrorism
and fundamentalism.
They put importance on creating social renaissance to flourish Bengali
culture against drug addiction, terrorism and militancy through writing,
producing and staging more dramas in line with the spirit of War of
Liberation.
They made the observation at the function arranged for distribution of
certificates among children participants on conclusion of a five-day ‘Child
drama workshop for school level students’ held at Town Hall auditorium in the
city on Friday night.
Rangpur Nattya Kendra (RNK) jointly with Rangpur Shishu Nattya Kendra
(RSNK) organised the workshop participated by 22 school level student drama
artists from all over the district.
Principal of Rangpur Millennium Stars School and College Lieutenant Colonel
Nazmur Rahman attended the function and distributed certificates among the
participants as the chief guest.
Former General Secretary of District Shilpokola Academy Tauhidur Rahman
Tutul and District Cultural Affairs Office Nujhat Tabassum Rimu spoke as
special guests.
General Secretary of RNK Razzaque Murad moderated the function attended by
leaders of different cultural organisations, guardians, teachers and
students.
The speakers discussed importance of writing and staging time-befitting
dramas for children to inspire them in becoming cultural minded with
patriotic zeal to establish peace in the society and accelerate national
development.
Tauhidur Rahman stressed on enriching Bengali culture through strengthening
cultural movement, producing more drama artistes and popularising stage and
street dramas to establish secular spirit in building a peaceful Bangladesh.
The chief guest put emphasis on nurturing cultural activities at
educational institutions to inform young generations about true national
history to establish spirit of the War of Liberation and awakening them on
severity of drug abuse and other social curses.
