Women’s hockey team loses 1-0 to Hong Kong

DHAKA, Sept 12, 2019 (BSS)- Bangladesh women’s hockey team went down 1-0
to favorite Hong Kong in their third match of Asia Women’s Junior (U-21) AHF
Cup held today (Thursday) at the Sengkang Hockey Stadium in Singapore.

The women’s in red and green started brilliantly but they missed two
scoring chances in the first quarter. In the second quarter Hong Kong took
the lead in the 27th minute and they maintained it till the final whistle.

According to a Bangladesh Hockey Federation’s press release today,
Bangladesh team’s assistant coach Hedayetul Islam informed that they lost the
match against Hong Kong due to lack of experience as Hong Kong were much
better in ball controlling and passing than Bangladesh in the field.

Bangladesh will play their fourth match against strong team Uzbekistan
scheduled to be held on Saturday (September 14) at 2.30 pm (BST).

Earlier, Bangladesh had lost their first game on Monday by a 3-0 margin
against hosts Singapore but bounced back with a 2-0 triumph over Sri Lanka in
