National Age Group Swimming concludes with BKSP domination

DHAKA, Sept 12, 2019 (BSS)- Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan (BKSP)
emerged champions in the Saif Powertec 33th National Age Group Swimming and
Diving competition that concluded on Thursday at Syed Nazrul Islam National
Swimming Complex in city’s Mirpur area.

Eight more new national records were created out of twenty two events on
the third and final day of the competition raising the new national record
tally to thirty one.

BKSP dominated the medal tally with 51 gold, 58 silver and 35 bronze medals
to emerge team event champions while Bangladesh Ansar finished the team event
as runners-up with 24 gold, 17 silver and 19 bronze medals.

Besides, Echamoti Swimming Club of Pabna was placed at third position in
the medal tally with 10 gold, two silver and three bronze medals in the
three-day competition.

BKSP’s Mobarak Hossain, who secured seven gold medals including four new
national records, was named the best swimmer in the boys section while Ani
Khatun of Bangladesh Ansar, who bagged seven gold with one new national
record, was adjudged the best swimmer in the girls’ section.

State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell, MP, was the chief
guest on the closing day of the competition and distributed prizes among the
winners while Saif Powertec managing director and Bangladesh Swimming
Federation vice president Tarafdar Ruhul Amin was present as the special
guest.
