Maritime ports advised to hoist signal three

DHAKA, Sept 12, 2019 (BSS)-Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal no. three as squally weather is likely to affect the maritime ports, north bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh.

All fishing boats and trawlers over north bay have been advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice, said a Met office release.

The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Horiyana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay.

Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong over North Bay.

Light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at most places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Rangpur and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country.

Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
