Three held with gold, contraband drugs at Dhaka airport
DHAKA, Sept 11, 2019 (BSS) – Three passengers have been arrested with gold
bars and contraband drugs at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport here.
Dhaka Customs House Preventive Team arrested a passenger with 1.32 lakh
pieces of contraband drugs worth about Taka 50 lakh in the green channel area
this morning, said Assistant Commissioner of Dhaka Custom House Sajjad
Hossain.
The detained person was identified as Md Asad, a passenger of Dhaka-bound
Saudi Airlines (SV-802) flight from Jeddah.
Meanwhile, Dhaka Customs House’s Preventive Team also detained two
passengers and recovered 10 pieces of gold bars from their possession in the
green Channel area on Tuesday night.
The detainees are: Jewel and Solaiman.
The market value of the seized gold bars is around 50 lakh, Sazzad Hossain
said.
Separate cases were filed in this regard.
