Prime accused in student murder case arrested in Rangpur
RANGPUR, Sept 10, 2019 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-13) today
arrested prime accused of the sensational school student Rashid murder case
Mozaffar Hossain, 22, with illegal arms and ammunition from Bus Terminal area
in the city.
“As per confession of Mozaffar, the elite force arrested another accused
in the murder case, Risaht Ahmed Joy, 20, from Machhari Dhulipara area under
Haragachh Thana of Rangpur Metropolitan Police,” a press release said.
Earlier, at 9:30 pm on August 29 last, infamous terrorists led by
Mozaffar murdered Rashid, a student of class five, in a brutal manner at
nearby Textile Crossing point on the Rangpur-Dhaka highway in the city.
Later, Shahidar Rahman, father of the victim, of Keranipara area filed a
murder case in this connection with Kotwali Thana of Rangpur Metropolitan
Police on August 30 last accusing three indentified and 2/3 unidentified
persons.
“Conducting a raid on secret information, a special operational team of
RAB-13 arrested Mozaffar with a foreign-made pistol, two bullets and a mobile
phone set in early hours of today,” the release said.
Later, the elite force handed over the arrested persons to Kotwali Thana
of Rangpur Metropolitan Police.
