96 percent dengue patients return home

DHAKA, Sep 9, 2019 (BSS)- Around 96 percent dengue patients, who were admitted to hospitals across the country, returned home after recovery till date.

Till now 73,942 dengue patients returned home after receiving treatment from various hospitals across the country.

According to Public Health Emergency Operation centre and its Control Room’s report, from the beginning of this year the number of dengue affected patients stood at 77,230 till today and 73,942 patients returned home from hospitals.

A total of 3,091 dengue patients were currently admitted to different hospitals in the country. Among them, 1,522 were admitted to Dhaka hospitals while 1,569 were admitted to health facilities outside Dhaka.

In last 24 hours, 851 dengue patients returned home after treatment across the country, said a press release today.

A total 716 dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals in last 24 hours. In Dhaka, the number of dengue patients admitted to hospitals was 300 and the figure was 416 outside the capital in the last 24 hours. Besides, the number of newly infected patients has dropped by 6 percent, added the release.

According to DGHS release in the last 24 hours, 79 patients were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, 57 to Mitford Hospital, 6 to Dhaka Shishu Hospital, 19 to Shaheed Suhrawardy hospital, 10 to BSMMU, 1 to Rahjarbagh Police Hospital, 29 to Mugda Medical College Hospital, 1 to BGP Hospital, 5 to Combined Military Hospital and 13 to Kurmitola General Hospital, 3 to Kuwait Moitri Hospital and 1 to National Institute of Traumatology & Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR).

However, 60 people died from the disease till now.
