5 DU fisheries dept students get scholarships
DHAKA, Sept 8, 2019 (BSS) – Two meritorious students of the Department of
Fisheries of Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded “Prof. Mohammed Shafi
Trust Fund scholarship” for securing the highest CGPA in BS Honors and MS
examinations respectively.
The recipients are: Md. Mostovee Inan Eshiq (MS) and Shawon Ahmed (BS).
Three other brilliant students of the department have received ‘Amena-Latif
Memorial Trust Fund Scholarship’ for their outstanding academic results. The
recipients are: Mst. Nilufa Yasmin, Md. Shafiuzzaman and Rokeya Akhter.
DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman distributed
scholarships and certificates among the students today at the VC’s lounge of
the university.
DU VC Prof. Akhtaruzzaman thanked Professor Mohammed Shafi, the donor of
the trust funds for his outstanding contribution to develop fisheries’
education and research in the country.
Biological Sciences Faculty Dean Prof Dr M. Imdadul Haque and Fisheries
Department Chairperson Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Rabbani spoke on the occasion.
